On a roll!

Hello!
As usual there’s been a fair amount of time passed between posts, but I have good excuses:
I got the all clear from my surgeon and I’m feeling really good about my recovery. Other than some tight muscles I need to massage loose, my back worries are gone.
It was my birthday last month.
And I’ve been writing!
I’ve been on a roll since a spark of inspiration got into me.
If you didn’t know already, my debut novel, Princess of Sea & Gold is a pirate tale set in 1715. I had originally planned for it to be one of three, but after completing it, I felt maybe it was better as a one off. That’s where inspiration struck, filling me with ideas of where I could take the main characters, Edwina Rodriguez, and James Hargrove. I’m not ready to let go of them and feel there’s so much more to explore.
To get myself back into the world of cutthroat pirates and tropical waters, creating a playlist is a must. Music is a big part of my writing routine, and a great way of losing myself completely in whatever world I’m creating at the time.
Here’s some of the songs currently on my pirate's playlist:
Black Sails Theme – Bear McCreary
Davy Jones – Hans Zimmer
The Devil’s Mark – Bear McCreary
Every Time You Leave – Sonya Belousova & Giona Ostinelli
Eye of the Storm – Bear McCreary
Marry Me – Hans Zimmer
Mermaids – Hans Zimmer
The New World – Lorne Balfe
Saint Pierre – Joe Henson & Alexis Smith
Treasure – Geoff Zanelli
Wondrous Love – Bear McCreary
Most come from soundtracks – Pirates of the Caribbean, Black Sails and Assassin’s Creed IV. I try to get songs as close to the period I’m writing in as possible. I’ve even found ambient videos on YouTube can be helpful.
I better get back to writing!
L.E
